ATOMIC - Friday night at The Cookie Club is Retro night featuring two decades of music. In the downstairs room we have the 80's and in the upstairs room it is the 90's.

Starting with ATOMIC downstairs, this is an 80's night where we try and offer you a little something different to the usual standard 80's night. Okay you still get your Duran Duran, A-Ha, Michael Jackson etc, but the bulk of music on offer downstairs you might say tends to come from the more credible side of the 80's. On this night we tend to play music from the likes of The Jam, Cure, Smiths, New Order, Blondie, Madness, Specials, Dexy's, Rem, U2,Talking Heads,The Police, The Clash, Human League, Soft Cell, Depeche Mode, Adam & The Ants, Housemartins, B-52's, Guns n Roses, Aerosmith. We also play some of the best tracks from the 70's including the likes of the Sex Pistols, Undertones, Ramones, Stranglers, Buzzcocks, T-Rex, Bowie, Iggy Pop etc. There's something in there for everybody whether you are just into the pop side of the 80's or are up for a bit of New Romantic action. The innovative bands of the genre always feature strongly along with a good dose of Ska and Punk Classics.

SABOTAGE - Upstairs is the 90's mix and with this you get a wide range of music from the decade, anything from Acid House to Brit-Pop. Dance music from the likes of KLF, Shamen, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Leftfield is mixed in alongside the more pop elements of the genre including Snap, N-Trance etc. You get a great segment of Indie sounds from the usual suspects such as Oasis, Charlatans, Happy Mondays, Blur, The Verve, Beastie Boys etc. The 90's of course were great for alot of one off hits, remember 'Jump Around', 'Two Princes', A Girl Like You' and 'Brimful Of Asha'. Friday nights at the Cookie are all about fun and having a great night out in a friendly atmosphere.

RISE & SHINE - Two floors, two totally different types of music. Firstly downstairs, this is our long running Indie night where you get to here the best of what is happening in the current Indie/Alternative scene + a host of classics from the Madchester and Brit Pop era's.

Currently on this night you should expect to here music from the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Kooks, Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, The Zutons, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Blur, Charlatans, Oasis, Pulp,The Strokes, White stripes,The Killers, Bloc Party, Dirty Pretty Things, Ordinary Boys, Editors, Hard-Fi, Babyshambles, Doves, Smiths, Kinks, Beatles, Who, Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Red Hot Chilli Peppers etc. We try our best to incorporate something for everybody hence the wide spectrum of music played, from the real cutting edge of things, to the old favourites that everybody knows and loves. RISE & SHINE is an ever evolving night that takes account of the constantly changing music and fashion scenes. It's aim is to stay at the fore front of things but with out forgetting the roots within which the night first started.

FUNK U - In contrast to the sounds on offer downstairs on a Saturday night upstairs is a total change of scene altogether with a soundtrack of Funk, Disco, Groovy Soul numbers and other cool vibes. Funk U has a good following that are well up on the music offered by master funksters such as the irrepressible James Brown and George Clinton. The Rhythmic bass lines pound out to the captivated crowds in the warm and friendly atmosphere. Expect to find yourself on the dancefloor gyrating to the sounds of Chic, Sister Sledge, Kool & The Gang, Soul II Soul, The Jackson's, and other Kings and Diva's of the Funk and Disco scene. Funk U has a real 70's feel about it but there's vibes on offer from all the decades including up to date sounds. Basically if it feels funky we play it but don't take our word for it come down and sample the night for yourselves.
